The Application Software Development Manager is accountable for managing a Development Group in the analysis, design, development, implementation, and support of applications to ensure and/or maintain alignment with the Lines of Business (LOBs) strategies. The Application Software Development Manager is also accountable for the on-time, on-budget completion of project deliverables, adhering to standards, such as Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
Knowledge & Skills:
Knowledge:
- Possesses a university degree/college diploma in applied technologies and/or 5+ years experience in state-of-the-art trading application development with expert business knowledge
- Possesses expert project management experience
- Possesses extensive practical experience in application development and/or client solution delivery, specifically in a Java, Portal and Websphere environment.
- Demonstrates expert knowledge of design and analysis methodology and application development processes ? Exhibits expert understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Quality Assurance, and software development control and release procedures
- Demonstrates expert understanding of relevant and emerging technologies and industry directions
Skills:
- Ability to manage coding standards, review estimates and design
- Possesses expert communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrates expert leadership/people management skills
- Possesses an expert ability to manage multiple projects high in complexity and of strategic importance
- Is capable of resolving diverse, complex and ambiguous issues and situations
- Is able to manage change and work collaboratively with Senior Stakeholders
- Is able to work independently
- Has demonstrated expert skills in project forecasting
