QA Analyst (GRADS) Position at RBC

The Quality Assurance Analyst will be responsible for the creation of test plans, test cases and execution of test cases, based on business requirements for changes to the GRADS system. QA responsibilities for this position include testing of system changes on development work items, along with regression testing and support to the Business Unit.

Position Overview:

QA Analyst must have proven written and verbal communication skills in order to support projects under the supervision of the QA Lead. Ability to work on projects of any complexity, with multiple interfaces and test cycles.

Ability to analyze project or requirements documents in order to create Master Test Plan and Test Cases.

Required to walkthrough the Master Test Plan and Test Cases with QA Lead, Development Team and Business Unit.

Execute test cases and document results in specified project documentation.

Co-ordinate defect investigation and re-test of fix.

Provide backup to other members of QA team.

Provide input of estimates and schedules for project, to QA Lead.

Provide direction, expertise, feedback, coaching and development to build the capability of more junior staff.

Continually enhances skills and builds knowledge in all aspects of the organization, the business and IT.

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated testing and defect management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to work on multi-projects and tasks at the same time.
  • Commitment to the QA disciplines, process and guidelines.
  • Ability to work with offshore QA testing resources.
  • Knowledge of HPQC.
  • Software Quality Certification - is expected to gain education/certification.
  • Resolves minor conflicts/issues and escalates others as required.
  • Ability to work on your own, with minimal guidance from QA Lead.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, in order to communicate and build rapport with team members, stakeholders, and business partners.
