In current project management
world, especially during the economic downturn period, risk management is
becoming more critical to ensure the project success. Risk management normally
is overlooked by many companies and
program/project managers, so the projects easily go over budget and behind
schedule, thus how to utilize and balance the risk management to ensure project
success is a more demanded topic. CPMP is striving to meet many demands on risk management
and therefore will hold a special seminar on this topic.

Speaker: Rubin Jen has been in the project management field
for over 15 years, spanning aerospace, engineering, telecom, software
development, outsourcing and consulting industries, with companies such as
Bombardier Aerospace, Celestica, Organic Online, OnX Enterprise Solutions and
Accenture. Rubin is owner of Beyond Execution Ltd., a project management
training and consulting firm. Rubin graduated from the University of Toronto in
1993 in Mechanical Engineering, and is a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) and is
a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
Rubin
is a consultant, speaker, writer and teacher of project management and has
spoken at project management events including the 2007 PMI Global Congress,
RiskSIG conferences and ProjectWorld Toronto. Rubin's papers have been
published by PMI, the PM
Network magazine and in “Mundo PM Magazine”, Brazil’s leading project management magazine.
Rubin is also an instructor of a variety of project management courses, both
corporate and public.
Rubin
has been an active member of the PMI Southern Ontario Chapter, which is PMI’s second largest chapter in the world.
Rubin has volunteered with the SOC since 2003, has served on the SOC’s Board of Directors and continues to
assist in the Membership portfolio and Nominating Committees.
