May Jim has over 25 years in IT as a consultant, business analyst, coach and project manager. She retired from IBM Canada, after 30 years' of service, where she has played key roles in many large, complex systems integration and business re-engineering projects. Upon her retirement, she started her own consulting company where she enjoys leveraging her experiences and creativity to solve problems, share knowledge and contribute to the growth of an organization. She is results-oriented and has a genuine interest in people.
May is a founding member of the IIBA and a reviewer of the BABOK. May is passionate about raising the profile of the BA profession through management awareness and practitioner skills enhancement. In addition to participating in complex and interesting projects, May also provides in-house business analysis training and coaching and helps organizations set up Centers of Excellence.
In addition to introducing basic SOA terminology, examining the underlying principles behind SOA, as well as dispelling some myths that have arisen out of this approach to application development, this presentation will address these questions pertaining to SOA that affect the PM and the BA. Members of the audience who have participated in an SOA project will be asked to share their experience and insight to wrap up the session.
