危机与机遇　－　王勇博士反思金融危机

     2007年开始延续到今天的金融危机是近两年的热点话题。金融危机几乎将美国五大投行悉数打尽，也令像冰岛这样过份追求金融创新的主权国家频临破产。反观加拿大银行系统在这次全球金融危机中虽也受到一定冲击，但相对其他国家特别是美国而言，其整体抗风险能力令世人瞩目。
    这次危机令众多投资人，甚至许多金融从业人员都非常困惑。进一步深究危机的爆发，表面看来是由于美国衍生产品市场的过份创新所至，其真正根源在于美国利用资本市场的繁荣，来提高民众的财产性收入，从而进行的过度消费。
    目前，加国房市回暖迹象已现，全球股指也是节节攀升。众多投资人并没有真正解除困惑，金融从业人员也是各说风云。但有一点大家似有共识：需要增强风险意识。有了风险意识，更多的人开始关注金融风险的管理以及它给自己乃至整个经济发展带来的影响。而在这方面，我们的身边就有位著名的风险管理专家。王勇博士在加拿大皇家银行工作了近十五年，现任该行副总裁、市场风险定量分析部董事总经理，是加拿大皇家银行为数不多的亚裔银行高管之一。
    这次我们荣幸请到王勇博士来做主题讲座。他将深刻地剖析金融危机的根源，展示危机对全球经济的深远影响，并对金融市场的发展给出一个前瞻性的展望。听众可以通过这一讲座来提高自身的金融知识和风险意识，强化自身对资本市场的了解。讲座对金融领域在职人员及有意加入人士自身的职业发展也有一定的指导意义

The Financial crisis started at the middle of 2007 has been a heated topic for the past two years. This crisis has puzzled many investors, even some finance practitioners. The financial crisis not only wiped out several major investment banks in US, but also knocked down financial innovation oriented countries like Iceland. Though it appeared that the cause of the crisis was the abusive innovation of the derivatives products, the real root of it was that United States capitalized on the prosperity of the capital market to pump up consumer’s income which led to over consumption.

Dr. Yong Wang will critically analyze the cause and true issues relate to this financial crisis in his lecture; explain the profound impact on the world economy and provide a forward looking outlook on future development of the financial market.  Participants will most likely enhance their finance knowledge and strengthen their understandings of the capital market. This lecture may also serve as good career development guidance for some professionals who are working in the finance field.

王勇博士，现任加拿大皇家银行银行副总裁，为定量分析部董事总经理（Managing Director），主管全行的模型检测。自1994年入行以来，连年业绩显赫，获得银行“优秀风险管理人奖”、“同行认可奖”、“卓越成就奖”。

 王勇博士主编或主译的四本风险管理专著在中国成为金融业界人士的专业参考书，并被纳入高等院校MBA金融教科书。王勇博士多次受邀为加拿大多伦多大学、约克大学、皇后大学、滑铁卢大学金融研究生讲课，又是加拿大加中金融峰会、中加数理金融研讨会、加拿大证券学院、中组部金融领导小组及中国多家商业银行的特邀专家嘉宾。中国证券报、上海第一财经、中国科技报、世界日报、加拿大Omni电视台、加拿大新时代电视台及多家北美网站对王勇博士做了精英专访。

    王勇博士是注册金融分析师（CFA），注册风险管理师（FRM），加中金融协会副会长。

Keynote Speaker: Yong Wang

Dr. Yong Wang is a veteran in Risk Management in Canada and his capital market product knowledge is well respected by industry peers. He is a speaker at the Fields Institute of Mathematics in Canada and has been a keynote speaker for more than a dozen of seminars for the Chinese financial institutions. He has coauthored a book on Risk Management and has translated several finance books into Chinese.

 Dr. Yong Wang is a key founder of Canadian-Chinese Finance Association, currently acting as a vice president.  He has earned a Bachelor of Mathematics from Xian Jiao-Tong University, and a Masters Degree of Mathematics from University of Saskatchewan and a PhD from Dalhousie University.  He is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and also a holder of the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) Certificate from Global Association of Risk Professionals.
